Spring is a beautiful time in Watch Hill, and we're offering a $100 resort credit, daily breakfast, and a complimentary wine or culinary experience in our renowned Center for Wine & Culinary Arts. The Ocean House is an island of sophistication and good taste on Cape Cod. It is one of the only places that we think delivers a great fine dining experience on Cape Cod.

Kaua‘i, also known as Hawaii’s Garden Isle, brims with lush, dramatic scenery—the cliffs of the Nā Pali Coast even set the stage for Jurassic Park. On the sunny South Shore of the island sits Poʻipū Beach, a gorgeous trio of golden crescents that’s popular among families. From swimming and snorkeling in the natural, shallow tidal pools to boogie boarding and surf lessons for beginners, there’s no shortage of ways to fill a day.

Ten enormous, historic mansions—once the summer homes of the Vanderbilts, Nevada silver heiresses, and other Westerners of unimaginable wealth—remain standing along the famous cliff walk. From Maine to Florida, the East Coast is home to some beautiful stretches of coastline, amazing views, and of course, remarkable beach towns. Whether you're looking for a summer hotspot full of excitement and entertainment and brimming with crowds, or want to escape to a quieter small town this season, the shores on the East Coast have a little something for everyone. From charming, historic New England towns to tropical Southern getaways, there is so much to explore this summer.

The primary suite, one of five bedrooms, has vaulted wooden ceilings, an ocean-view window seat and a fireplace. Another suite that could similarly function as the primary also has a fireplace and balcony access. A historic bed & breakfast on Cape Cod is still the best in America, according to Tripadvisor users.

Exposed breaks and reliable swells make Zuma Beach popular among surfers, who have come here for years—even before there were food stands and public restrooms—to carve and dry their wetsuits under the warmth of the bright sun. Besides riding waves, it’s ideal for beach picnics (locals know to grab burritos from Lily’s) and swimming in the Pacific Ocean. The Cape Cod style was developed by the colonists who came from England to Massachusetts in the 17th century. Among the home's features are an ice cream bar and a wine cellar.

At Hutton Brickyards, the cooler months are made for cozy, indoor moments. Chef Dan Silverman has created a menu that highlights smoked delicacies and rotisserie deliciousness, exploring the bounty of local farms. Thanks in part to the Cape’s diversifying population, the food scene has evolved beyond chowder and lobster rolls. The Travelers’ Choice Awards for Hotels were determined based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor from Jan. 1, 2023 through Dec. 31, 2023.

This is an inn, not a massive hotel, so there's no on-site spa or restaurant, but the B&B will organize in-room massages and other amenities if you so choose. It's located right in Brewster, and it's less than a 15-minute walk to the beach. Florida is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the country—but none more sizzling than Miami Beach. Backed by a seven-mile boardwalk that’s always bustling with sun-tanned locals and visitors on bikes, rollerblades and their own two feet, the palm-fringed stretch of golden sand and turquoise water with blue skies defines South Florida. Lifeguards are always on duty—and the colorful lifeguard stations have even become a popular backdrop for photos. The Garden State encompasses 141 miles of Atlantic Ocean real estate—none more iconic or family-friendly than Cape May Beach, which runs parallel to Beach Avenue for 2.5 miles.

Paine's Creek Beach

Virginia Beach is a resort city, and the Oceanfront is a main tourist attraction. The city is known for its pristine beaches, coastal cuisine and entertainment. No doubt much of what has attracted this Who’s Who of Hollywood to the celebrity enclave is the oceanfront locale. Estate homes line pristine beaches with views up and down the coastline. Yet all the major studios are within a 90-mile drive, making it a workable destination for weekend or extended getaways.

Because their sloped roofs prevent a build-up of snow, they are most often found in cold climates. Emily Kellenberger of Village Properties is the listing agent for the property. A living area with herringbone patterned wood floors and crown molding centers on a fireplace flanked by windows.

(Although some residents of Long Island’s furthest out town argue that if you really think about it, it’s actually the Beginning.) Montauk feels more remote and low-key than its luxurious, sceney Hamptons counterparts. Every visit to Montauk should include a stop at the Montauk Point Light House, which was commissioned by President George Washington in 1796. It is still operating, and the panoramic views from the top are out of this world. Cape Cod is composed of several different towns, each with their own distinct vibe and culture. There’s something for everyone in Cape Cod, from Hyannis and Falmouth to Chatham and all the way out to Wellfleet and Provincetown, at the very last edge of the outer Cape.

After all, there’s something about the solitude of a walk along the empty shoreline that’s incredibly peaceful. Not all beaches are on the ocean, and Platte River Point Beach, part of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, is proof of that. Anyone familiar with popular Michigan travel destinations has likely heard of this scenic spot in the Wolverine State.

For high-end shopping, think New York City and 5th Avenue may come to mind; Beverly Hills and perhaps Rodeo Drive is on the tip of the tongue. For luxury beachfront living in Carpinteria, a seaside city in California’s Santa Barbara County, the height of prestige is Padaro Lane. The final stop on the eastern tip of Long Island, Montauk is appropriately known as the End. Due to strong winds, rough surf, and ample preserved land, it really does feel like the edge of the world, here.

From a logistical standpoint, it’s also the only beach in the area with metered on-site parking, which makes accessing the sand and surf much easier—especially if you’re hauling a lot of gear. The best beaches in the U.S. deliver ocean waves and postcard-worthy views—and swimsuit-ready temps aren’t a requirement to visit them. These beaches can easily be enjoyed outside of peak tourist season.

Chatham Bars Inn was built as a hunting lodge for wealthy Bostonians back in 1914. It’s now a charming waterfront hotel, with 217 rooms spread throughout the 25 acre property. What really stands out, though, is that the spa uses a private signature product line that features ingredients like homegrown botanicals from the property’s farm and honey from the beehive. While it's not too far from the aforementioned Pawleys Island, Myrtle Beach will feel worlds away from the slow, small-town atmosphere of the other quaint town.
